For Analysis of Nonvolatile Solid Samples Tin aids in the combustion of the sample. As it burns, tin releases heat, causing the sample to break down more quickly and more completely. Tin capsules are routinely used to analyze polymers, soils, coal, dry dairy products, plant leaves, paper, textiles, calibration standards, and many organic and pharmaceutical products. To use, simply place the sample in the tin capsule and fold the capsule closed. Choose standard size for most PerkinElmer 2400 applications and large size for most PerkinElmer 2410 applications.
Waters Corp Waters O-Ring, FKM, AS012, 3/pk
This replacement O-ring is typically used as a seal in legacy ESI and APcI probe designs. It is found in the probes of 3100, SQD, ACQUITY TQD, and earlier Mass Spectrometers, as well as earlier versions of Xevo and Synapt products before the introduction of Tool Free Probes.

For mostly aqueous buffered mobile phases, PTFE-based Improved PTFE Blend (ITB) seals are a superior choice for applications with elevated temperatures, high organic content, or when the broadest possible solvent compatibility is required. ITB™ seals tend to be softer than those made from UHMW-PE, making them more forgiving at high pressures where piston side-loading or misalignment may occur. This softer nature also leads to more shedding, but the ITB™ proprietary blend is designed to shed particles that are large enough to be caught at the surface of a standard µm frit, not embed within it.
